Washington State enters Saturday at 1-6, still seeking its first victory against an FBS opponent and its first Pac-12 Conference win this season. Another loss would put the Cougars close to being unable to qualify for a bowl. WSU has reached a bowl in 10 of the previous 11 seasons.

Boise State comes to Pullman ranked No. 21 and favored to claim the league. After dropping its opener against Oregon, the Broncos have won five straight. Quarterback Maddux Madsen leads an offense that has possessed the ball for 220 minutes this season, the highest total in the country.

Redshirt freshman Owen Eshelman is set to start again at quarterback for Washington State after producing more than 400 total yards against Oregon State. The matchup also reconnects first-year WSU coach Kirby Moore with Boise State, where he played wide receiver alongside his brother Kellen. Washington State leads the all-time series 5-2, though Boise State has taken two of the past three meetings, including a 45-24 home victory in 2024. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m., with USA Network carrying the game.
