Families with children ages 2 through 5 can attend Family Play & Learn Storytime on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the Meeting Room at Medical Lake. The session is divided between two kinds of learning: first, children hear picture books, join in songs and try fingerplays; afterward, they explore activities connected to math, science, art and literacy.

Parents and caregivers are invited to participate alongside their children. The program introduces early literacy, STEAM and social skills connected to kindergarten, while giving families ideas they can continue exploring at home. It also offers an opportunity to get a library card for a child.

Library space is limited, so groups of 10 or more people should call before attending. Spokane County Library District says its in-person events are intended to welcome people of all abilities. Families needing accommodations, including hearing assistance or ASL requests, can contact comments@scld.org or call 509.893.8200 at least five business days ahead.
