Trauma Spectrum opens at Spokane’s Terrain Gallery
Emily Flynn-DeLay’s exhibition explores healing through sculptures and painted forms.

Emily Flynn-DeLay’s Trauma Spectrum centers on healing as an uneven, continuing process rather than a single point of resolution. At Terrain Gallery, three sculptures showing complete human figures are arranged with flat, painted pieces. Each figure looks toward or faces those images, establishing a relationship between the body and the artwork.
The painted forms represent memory, perception and experiences carried within a person. Their placement beside the sculpted figures creates tension and frames trauma as something people may return to, confront and understand differently over time. Instead of portraying the traumatic event itself, the figures hold reflective poses and emphasize the steady, quiet labor of processing what remains.
The exhibition runs from November 6th through November 28th and is closed November 26th. The Opening Reception is November 6th from 5PM to 8PM, with an opportunity to meet Flynn-DeLay. After opening night, the gallery’s regular schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 4PM to 7PM. Together, the works present healing through shifts in awareness, distance and change.
