Mead secured the 4A championship and a top league berth in Week 10’s Round of 32 after beating Lewis and Clark 59-31. The Panthers, 7-1 overall and No. 12 in RPI, meet Ferris Friday at 6 p.m. Thursday’s 7:30 p.m. game at ONE Spokane Stadium determines the other placements: Lewis and Clark hosts Gonzaga Prep, with both teams at 2-6 overall and 1-1 in division play. The victor advances automatically; the other team enters a Nov. 3 play-in against the Mid-Columbia Conference’s third-place finisher.

Ridgeline has already advanced from its division and can claim its first football league championship by defeating Cheney. A Cheney victory creates multiple possibilities. Depending on Thursday’s results between Ridgeline and Cheney and between University and Mt. Spokane, either the top three positions or the second and third berths could require a three-team Kansas tiebreaker. That event would be held on Halloween at Shadle Park’s new turf field.

West Valley, now 7-1 overall and 5-0 in league games, owns its division championship and top seed even if Deer Park wins their matchup. Rogers has completed league play at 4-2, while Pullman visits winless North Central and East Valley welcomes Clarkston. If Rogers, Pullman and East Valley each end with two league defeats, they will enter a three-team Spokane tiebreaker on Monday, Nov. 2. It will determine second place, third place and elimination. Pullman has the head-to-head edge over Rogers if that result becomes relevant.
