A free homebuyer education seminar begins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in the Diane E. Zahand Meeting Room West in Spokane Valley. The program is designed to explain the main steps involved in purchasing a home without favoring particular products or services.

The seminar will be taught by instructors from SNAP Spokane who hold certification through the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. SNAP is approved by HUD to provide housing counseling. For prospective buyers, the session offers a structured overview of a process that can feel both exciting and difficult to navigate.

Those who finish the seminar will receive a completion certificate. That document may be submitted as part of an application for down-payment assistance, which can matter for buyers managing the upfront cost of a home. When a class is divided into two days, attendance on both days is necessary to qualify for the certificate.

Advance registration is required and is available online or by calling 509.456.7627 ext. 4131. Spokane County Library District asks anyone needing hearing assistance, ASL support or another ADA accommodation to contact comments@scld.org or 509.893.8200 at least five business days before the event.
