Family Play & Learn Storytime begins at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in the Argonne Meeting Room. The hourlong program is designed for children ages 2-5 attending with their families.

The first half-hour features picture books, music, and fingerplay. During the next 30 minutes, children move into activities centered on literacy, art, science, and math. Parents and caregivers participate alongside them, making the session a shared time for learning through play. The program introduces literacy, STEAM, and social abilities that support kindergarten readiness and can also be practiced at home. Families may also get a library card for their child.

Attendance space is limited, and parties with at least 10 people should contact the library before arriving. Spokane County Library District works to welcome attendees with different abilities. For disability-related accommodations at an in-person program, requests must reach the district no fewer than five business days beforehand. Families can use comments@scld.org or call 509.893.8200. Additional Wednesday sessions are listed for November 18 and 25, followed by December 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2026.
