Medical Lake families can attend Family Play & Learn Storytime on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the Meeting Room. The program is for children ages 2-5 and the adults who care for them. It begins with 30 minutes of picture books, music, and fingerplay, then shifts to another 30 minutes of hands-on exploration involving math, science, art, and literacy.

The session gives adults a chance to join their children in play while building skills connected to literacy, STEAM, and social development for kindergarten. Those ideas can also continue at home, and children can get a library card they may use for years. Seating is limited; groups with 10 or more people should call ahead. Spokane County Library District says its in-person events are intended to welcome people of all abilities. Accommodation requests, including hearing assistance or ASL, can be sent to comments@scld.org or 509.893.8200 at least five business days before an event.
