Deer Park library offers Medicare plan counseling
Appointments with SHIBA volunteers are available during 2027 Medicare open enrollment.

Medicare beneficiaries can meet individually with a trained SHIBA volunteer at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in Deer Park’s Meeting Room. An appointment is necessary and can be reserved by calling 509.777.1592. Participants should have their Medicare card and current medication list with them.
The session focuses on comparing Part D and Medicare Advantage choices for 2027, since plan prices and benefits may shift each year. Volunteers help consumers investigate and weigh available options based on their needs. Counseling from Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors is confidential, impartial and free. SHIBA’s statewide volunteer network supports and advocates for people using Medicare.
Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington sponsors SHIBA locally and supplies Medicare education. It also offers information and support involving memory loss, dementia and fall prevention, among other subjects. Requested accommodations for an in-person library event require at least five business days’ notice. Requests may be sent to comments@scld.org or made by calling 509.893.8200.
