Critical Infrastructure turns the spotlight toward people who usually present and support other artists. Participants include museum and gallery directors, arts teachers, nonprofit founders and local advocates whose own creations are seldom displayed. They produced new pieces for the exhibition, drawing attention to the creative abilities that helped lead them into arts-focused careers.

Carrie Scozzaro, an artist, educator and journalist, organized the show. The roster includes Ali Blackwood, Ann Saberi, Brooke Shelman Wagner, Eva Silverstone, Jeni Riplinger, Jennifer LaRue, Katie Patterson Larson, Kelsey Cook, Kristin Becker, Megan Cherry, Rob Worstell and Shawn Gunnier. Chelsea Cordova and Kelly Baker, both connected with Front Room Gallery and Marmot Art Space, are also participating, along with Ali Shute and John Fullmer.

Visitors will encounter ceramics, photographs and prints alongside paintings, sculpture combining multiple materials, and additional forms. Although the participants do not rely on making art for their income, their everyday work keeps them closely involved with artists. The exhibition offers Spokane visitors an opportunity to meet people who help maintain the region’s cultural network. Its opening aligns with First Friday, and the show continues through October 31st. Admission is free during public hours at 628 N Monroe St.
