Millennium Northwest seeks permits for Spokane apartments
The developer has worked on projects in Kendall Yards, the Garland District and North Monroe District.

Millennium Northwest has submitted permit applications for a new apartment building at 2002 N. Monroe Street, where Monroe Street meets Shannon Avenue. The planned structure would rise four stories and contain 43 homes on the property that already holds the developer’s 46-unit building, completed in 2023. That earlier building is fully occupied.
The new $7.5 million project is designed around one- and two-bedroom apartments. Millennium says it is intended mainly for residents earning between 80% and 115% of the area median income, a group the developer describes as the “missing middle.” For Spokane renters, the project would create another option in a walkable neighborhood, while the unit mix also includes smaller homes for individuals and families.
The building would cover 32,000 square feet. Construction is expected to start early next year, with completion planned for the later part of 2028. Spokane-based Baker Construction is set to build it, using a design from Spokane-based Bernardo-Wills Architecture. The project is described as the final phase of Millennium Northwest’s Monroe development, and the firm says it has other projects in their earliest planning stages.
