Baby Play & Learn Storytime meets Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 9:30 AM in the North Spokane meeting room. The program is designed for children from birth through 18 months and begins with 20 minutes of picture books, songs, bouncing and simple rhymes that familiarize babies with language.

A 30-minute play period follows, giving babies and their caregivers time with toys and activities suited to their ages. Along with literacy, the gathering introduces social development and STEAM concepts: science, technology, engineering, art and math. Families can also continue exploring these skills at home as children prepare for kindergarten. A library card is available for a child to use for years.

Additional Wednesday sessions are listed for November 18 and 25, followed by December 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2026. Groups of at least 10 people should phone before attending because library space is limited. For accessibility arrangements, including ASL or help with hearing, contact comments@scld.org or 509.893.8200 no fewer than five business days in advance.
